On July 12, 2001,
the Senate confirmed Peter W. Rodman, the Center's Director of National Security
Programs, as Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs.
Rodman will manage the Defense Department's ties with foreign nations and
participate in the interagency process of policy formulation.
